City to Ocean launches Boycott!, a soda to stop the pollution of our waterways!
How to fight the pollution of the big brands? We have been asking ourselves this question very often being an environmental organisation. We finally came up with the solution: we are going to take over! We are going to produce soda ourselves, but we’ll do it better, taking nature into account without creating waste. Yes, drinking soda without creating waste is possible! Ring all the bells, Boycott! is born!
The Boycott! story
For years, City to Ocean has been cleaning up waste from the Brussels canal by kayak. And the most common things we find floating? Single-use cans and plastic bottles. That’s why we created Boycott!, a soda in a standard reusable glass bottle. With Boycott!, we’re fighting single-use packaging and offering a tasty alternative that won’t end up in nature. And yes, tasty it is, Boycott! single-use is a lemon-pine sparkling soda, something you never tasted before, try it, you will like it.

Stop pollution
Boycott! fights pollution with every sip. Most soft drinks? Sold in throwaway plastic or cans. No deposit. No second life. Only 9% of all plastics ever made have been recycled. Each year, 430 million tons of plastic are produced worldwide and two-thirds are used just once. Recycling won’t save us. It’s time to break up with single-use. Choose reuse. That’s why Boycott! comes in a reusable glass bottle with a deposit. No waste, great taste.

Shift to standardisation and reuse
Boycott! isn’t just a delicious soda, it’s a statement. We use a standard reusable glass bottle with a deposit, the same type used by beer producers all over Belgium. Each bottle is reused about 25 times over several years. Standardisation is the secret that makes reuse work. If it works for drinks, it can work for almost anything that comes in packaging. Imagine: a glass bottle or jar bought in Belgium, returned in a shop on the other side of the world. That’s the future we’re fighting for.
